Vibration when exceletating?

Hey guys,

So, I put the richie v3 jpipe on and have swapped my wheels about 5 times since then.. and now am on oem 5 spoke wheels..

I just noticed that when I i try to go WOT my car starts to vibrate.. bad enough that I dont gun it anymore..

I dont have a garage to work on my car on at the moment because I just sold my house, so really dont feel like peeking under the hood in the parking lot where I am staying.. I also dont have access to any of my tools

I think it could be one of these three issues..
1. Tires need balancing - but there is no vibration at any speeds even over 100 lol .. only when I really push the throttle..
2. Engine mounts need replacing
3. Wheel bearings need replacement

What do you guys think?

Thanks!

where exactly do you feel it? I'd just check all the fluids and make sure they are at the proper levels. It may also be the belt tensioner failing at high speeds...

All fluids are fine. I've driven at high speeds and don't get the vibration unless I push the pedal all the way down.

I really think it is this also. I was thinking it might also be my mounts too. So might be swapping those out soon.

Well i finally had a chance to get my wheels balanced yesterday and this did not solve the issue.. The wheels I have were perfectly balanced according to Discount tire. Next in line is to check the Axles and wheel bearings.. I think you are right. I had my passenger axle replaced about 6 months ago. Maybe the driver side needs a new one now. Just dont really want to replace both!! ARGH!

I had the same problem with my '05 Accord. Car was shaking while on the 2nd gear, between 20-30 mph speed range. I replaced a drive axle (rebuilt - I will never do that again and don't recommend using rebuilt "drive" parts) and vibration was gone.
Good luck!

Finally had a chance to get the car up.. pulled and shook the axles.. and both sides seemed loose.. DANGIT!! need 2 new axles!! Ordered.. Going to receive them this week. Since I dont have a house and my own garage.. I have to pay someone 120.00 to do the work.. not too bad I guess.. oh well.. time to pony up on some maintenance items since my car is nearing the 100k mark.. No more mods for me for a few months!

I would say it's not that expensive to replace both axles. I hope you are not getting rebuilts since they don't last longer than original ones.

They do not make rebuilts for both sides for 6 speeds. I think since my car is nearing the 100k mark and my car is slammed.. that I got good use from the original ones.

Both axles from the honda dealer cost close to 460.00.

You got it right!

Changed the axles out and now the car feels smooth as silk!! I can see my gas mileage going down the tube again since I can enjoy the rv6 Jpipe v3 again! lol

Sounds like my problem right now. When did you have your vibrations?

If you replace the entire axle...does that include the wheel bearing?!?
