Vibration when braking?

So in the past few months I have replaced the pads and rotors and all four corners and replaced the tires with new ones and obviously they were balanced. I still get a very slight vibration in the brake pedal when braking at high speeds. This is unacceptable to me. Any idea what else it could be?

It could be a number of things

Did you follow the brake bed-in procedure after you installed your pads/rotors?

vibration at the steering during braking.. a common symptom of warped rotors.

But you said you just had replaced the rotors and pads, so I don't know..

When you get brand new rotors and pads there is a special "Bed-in procedure" that you must do. Did you do the correct "Bed-In procedure" ?

Google "Rotor bed-in procedure" and you will see what we are talking about.

The only thing I can suggest is to take a dial indicator and check your rotors for excessive runout to see if it is indeed warped or not.

--

excessive lateral run out can also be caused by not correctly torquing the lug nuts to manufacturers spec.

Sounds like a wrapped rotor to me. Many customers that come in have the same problem. We either replace or resurface the rotor and the problem goes away

Lost track of this thread after it got moved.

I forgot to ask originally....did you do the pads/rotors yourself? Or did you take them to a shop for the install?

It could be simple as a lug not tightened enough!!!!!!

Ok back to my original question. After the pads/rotors were installed, did you do any form of bed-in procedure? Or did you just drive off into the sunset? Is the vibration only in the pedal when stopping? Or do you feel it in the steering wheel also?

If you did do a bed-in procedure, I'd start with Maharajamd and Eatsleeprace's suggestions of checking the lugs and making sure they're tightened to spec.

Did you check to make sure that you don't have a seized caliper? That was my problem. I replaced rotors and pads and still have a vibration while driving (it sounded like I had a black ops helicopter on my ass). Ended up doing a temp. check on the rims and found my passenger rear was really hot. Found out my caliper on that wheel was seized. Took it off, lubed it, reinstalled, all my problems went away....

Just take it back o the shop that did your break job and have them check it out. If the brakes were not seated or broken in right the shop can remove the rotors and true them up. GL
