Vibration upon accelerating

Hello TL owners,

So I spent some time "creeping" the forums unregistered trying to figure out why my car is vibrating when accelerating. I've seen that it can be the axle, mounts, or just the transmission going bad.

My car is lowered (about 2in) and when accelerating I feel a vibration that gets worse as the RPMs increase. The vibrations doesn't stop unless I let off of gas or until the gears switch (low RPM). (I didn't feel the vibration when the car was stock height)

I had it serviced at Acura (when it was raised, they refused to work on the car lowered) and they said the mounts were broken, so I replaced them. Now that I have the car lowered again, the vibration has returned. I just changed the driver side axle, and the pass. side axle has very little play. Can this be the cause of the vibrations?

Thanks for any help/advice given

Maybe you broke the new motor mounts? Honestly, it sounds to me like it's your suspension. If it works fine when it's raised but comes back when you drop your car, then something is out of spec. We need more info. Did you get an alignment after dropping the car? What suspension are you using?

Its D2. Thing is, the guy before me had no problems with this. New motor mounts are less than 3 months old. I mean, i'll have em checked out again. The thing is Acura charges and arm and a leg just to diagnose a problem. When I paid for the Transmission inspection they charged me the fee, just to tell me the mounts were broken. They refused to even look at the transmission until those were fixed.

My mechanic was telling me it can be the axle (right side/pass side). Since its lowered its probably causing more stress. I hope this is the case and not the tranny going bad

An alignment might resolve this issue. You always want to get one after adjusting your ride height.

Axles are fine. Just installed 2 new axles. Vibration is still there. Any other options or solutions? Nothing seems to be loose but something is spinning or moving while I'm driving causing me to feel a heavy vibration

No i haven't. Thats on my to do list. I raised the car 1in and vibration isnt as bad now. I'm going to try swapping the rims out for the Type S rims to see if i still feel the vibration. Recently had a problem with my EGR valve and had to get it cleaned. Someone was telling me it can be the offset, but at this point im unsure

If the vibrations are based off of engine speed, it more than likely is not in the suspension, axles, tires, or wheels. I would be looking at the engine or input side of the transmission.

Agreed. But this only occurred after i changed my rims and lowered the car. So i assumed it was either the lowering of the car causing stress on the axle or a rim/tire issue
