Vibration above 60 mph

I recently purchased a used 2005 RL with 94K miles on it. Everything seemed fine when I test drove it but apparently I didn't look at it well enough. I am feeling a vibration (and some noise) while traveling over 60 MPH. It seems like the vibration/noise is coming from the rear of the car but I really cannot tell. I like everything about it except the vibration. Does anyone have any tips to help me figure out where its coming from? Seems like it could be coming from different places. I don't know if it is going to help but I am going to replace the tires. wondering if there is a balance problem that could be contributing to the vibration. I believe the tires have about 50K miles on them.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

Most likely it is a balancing issue. I will suggest getting a Hunter Roadforce balance when you replace the tires. I had one done and it fixed the minimal vibrations I was getting around 65mph.

I had a slight vibration above 75mph ... Noticed it after having brand new tires put on. I had them re-balance the wheels/tires (Roadforce), but it turned out to be a slightly bent rim, so slight, that when balanced, it was still in spec. Moving the rim to the rear alleviated the vibration I felt ... Just need to get the wheel fixed now. Anyway, I would also check the rims themselves.

Thanks for the advice, fellas. I haven't heard of a "Hunter Roadforce" balance before. I'll look into that. I'm just hoping its not the transmission or other expensive-to-fix part. I plan on getting new tires in the next month or so. I can live with the vibration until then. If it doesn't get better after I change tires, I'll post back.
