Valve cover still leaking
Valve cover still leaking
So over the weekend i was replacing my spark plugs and fixing my valve cover leaks, and y'know i fucked up and broke a bolt on the back one (it still seals just fine! No leaks at all!) And then the front one I didn't break anything and it went on just as smoothly no binding up of the gasket or any of the sorts. For some reason the front is still leaking but not the back, i have taken it off and recentered it just in case as well as getting another replacement gasket just in case i messed up the first one or bad from the factory part. And still to no avail, still leaking just as it was before i took it apart, i am beyond confused and don't know where to go from here

I had to replace my valve cover gaskets twice before realizing the leak was coming from the rubber grommets under the washers of the studs that hold the VC's down.
I bought all new studs (which come with the metal washers and rubber grommets) swapped them out, and finally no more leaks from the VC's.
You might as well swap the PCV valve out too, since that's cheap/easy enough, and also known to cause oil leaks that appear to be VC leaks.
