I've just recently noticed a slight ticking or knocking when in a higher gear under lower rpm and some during hard acceleration after VTEC ...is this a common indicator for valve adjustment time? I have 85k on my 08 TLS MT.

Plus, has anyone experminted with different heat ranges on spark plugs? Just curious...

 

If I were you I would get out and check your spark plugs right now to see if there loose.

It may not be the issue but you'd rather be safe than sorry.

 

Yea I tightened 3 and 5? Already...this is a noticeable knock...sounds like an old Chevy 305 when you put regular in it, with the timing retarded a bit lol. It's only under WOT and seems only after VTEC opens...it might be my head, but seems a bit of loss of power too...

 

I'm assuming you use premium fuel from a top tier gas station? So there is no knock when it's in park just idling?

 

Yes 93 only from Mobil. And nothing at idle...
