Am approaching the 100k mile mark on my 07 TL-S, and need to change out the manual transmission fluid. Have lived through all the transmission problems of it popping out of 3rd and 4th gear(s), and it still does occasionally. Not happy with it, but have come to live with it.

Would like to confirm if GM Synchromesh is still the best recommendation to use? Any success or improvements with other fluids? Any other suggestions?

The GM Synchromesh Friction Modified is still what I would (and do) use. Is that what you have been using all along? Most don't have any pop-out issues with it.

 

Been using it for about 130K miles now. Changed it out once. No issues

 

Thank you for clarifying. I have been using it since 4k miles.

Even with 2 gear sets replacements and GM Synchromesh FM, it still occasionally pops out of 3rd and 4th, which I don't like, but have come to accept.

Have heard of some people using AmsOil transmission/gear oil, and curious if anyone am curious if anyone has that experience?

Will play it safe and stick with Synchromesh FM.
