Unknown noise

Well i have owned my TL for about 2.5 years. I bought a certified pre-owned. About a month after i owned it, i noticed a screeching noise between 1500-2000 RMPS in every gear except first and sometimes second, (automatic tranny)

At first i thought it was a brake issue, so i brought the car back to the dealership and they "said" it was a brake issue, so they replaced all the rotors and pads, supposedly. Guess what... still did it.

I searched this site and i checked all possible causes.. I even checked the heat shields and made sure they that they are tight and are not rattling.

So i am at a loss... any suggestions?

Thanks,

E

I would think belts or something because it sounds like its RPM based.. I wouldn't think the brakes.. unless it only did it when you were stopping. What year is your TL? Has it been checked for the transmission recall (early 04s in a certain VIN range)?
