Uneven hood gaps help

So I was in a minor collison and rear ended someone and after im noticing that the gap between the fenders and the hood are way uneven. On the passengers side the gap is big enough to get a pen cap into while on the drivers i cant fit a quarter in. Please help i hate how it takes away from the overall look of my car.

You rear ended someone and now your hood isn't aligned. You need to take it to a body shop to check out what is damaged. It obviously did more damage than just to the bumper if panels aren't aligned anymore.

OP, that's under warranty. Bring it back to the Bodyshop and tell them to fix it.

Maybe I can help you, please post a pic of your hood stiker?

This is the correct answer.

There are "roughly" three things you can adjust:
- Striker
- Hinges
- Posts (don't know actual name, the little posts on the front to adjust the hood corner height

Outside of those adjustments, if the fenders aren't aligned properly, the hood will probably never look right. The bodyshop should be on the hook for getting it all aligned properly.....not you. If you go mucking with things and don't know what you are doing, that will for sure take the bodyshop off the hook to fix anything. They will just blame you for messing it up. I have dealt with multiple vehicles over the years that had "minor" front-end damage at one point in their lives. All of them came back to my possession with no obvious signs they were ever in an accident. All panels perfectly aligned, paint matching perfectly, no overspray....and if it didn't, the car went right back to the shop. One car, the body shop was mucking with it off and on for almost 5 months. It was f'ing perfect when I finally accepted it back....I even kept that car for 7 more years after that accident and it still showed no signs that it had ever been previously damaged and repaired.

Four things... Also the latch.

Posts are call hood cushions. Not really effective for side to side adjustments. Best for height.

Adjust striker for minor misalignment, striker and hood for significant misalignment, and hinge if necessary to correct binding of striker to latch after hood is aligned with the latch and centered in between fenders. Finish with hood cushion for hood height to fender height alignment.
