Underhood Wiring Harness (or Fuse) Box disintegrating
Hi all,
It's been more than 7 years since I've posted here (jeez, time flies!), but it's nice to be back.
I've got a problem with my '07 TL (base, AT) similar to this one: Wiring harness box under the hood falling apart (c. mid-July 2022)
I'm trying to follow the recommended fix (don't purchase the entire "Box Assembly," but rather just the upper and lower covers). I've found both parts available for purchase online (lower cover: Part # 38252-SEF-A01; and upper cover: Part # 38254-SEP-A11), but just had some questions before purchasing.
1. Is there a difference in people's experiences with http://www.oemacuraparts.com and https://acura.oempartsonline.com ? Or are these basically the same supplier?
2. Once I purchase the parts, can I have a local mechanic install them? (I'm not very handy myself.) And how much do folks think that might cost?
I've got another issue with my cooling system, but I'll start another thread for that. Anyways, TIA!

Just re-read the July 2022 thread and realized I might need to consider buying the entire "Box Assembly" instead of just the upper and lower covers because the "guts" section may be failing, too.
Will try to post some pics tomorrow.
Also, I'm tempted to try the install myself, since the Acura Service (Helms) Manual and replies on the 2022 thread make it seem so easy. (But even for a putz like me? )

If I had this issue, I'd find the best used 38250-SEP-A11 Relay Box assembly, either at a local salvage yard or ebay.
Especially if you think there are issues with the 'guts'.
As long as you take your time, do exactly what the sequenced document tells you on the other thread, it (the install) should turn out reasonably straight forward.
Just make a note of where each wire in #4 gets back to its proper location.
Good Luck
