Unable to open driver's door from inside

I have two issues....please help if you can:

1- After the car is turned off and door appears unlocked, I'm unable to open the driver's side door to get out. The door can be opened from outside, but unable to open from inside.

2- After crawling out the passenger side, I tried to diagnose the issue and moved the white lock mechanism on the side of the door. It must be spring loaded or something, now I can't get the door to latch and close. I can't seem to find a trigger to open the latch mechanism again. I tried the remote and the interior locks move up and down like normal, but no trigger release. I also tried the key manually and it didn't work. I also tried to start the car, place it in reverse and back in park to try and trigger something...with no luck. Now I'm nervous the side door light will kill my battery. Please help!

Thanks.

most likely a plastic clip that holds the activator rods in place has come off or broken inside the door.
You need to open the door and remove the interior panel, then the big sheet of plastic glued to the door frame gets pulled back. There are several cutout holes in the door panel so you car look inside and reach in to fix whatever.
Thats a start for you at least.!
The mechanism at the end of the door- where the striker and catch meet- is that not closing now?
Use a screwdriver to flip the short piece and see if that works, never looked at my TL to be certain- so check your passenger door and see how it looks and operates.

I agree. Your best bet is to take your car to the dealership. If you can, get them to do the work for free.

Also had this problem shortly after the tint was installed on my car. The asshole who took the door panel off had damaged the linkage from the inside panel. Needed to get the linkage replaced at my cost. Has anyone worked on the car recently?

when you moved the locking mechinism, you put it in the closed position, you need to get a screw driver and lightly pry it open while trying to open the door handle (like you are actually trying to open the door) Now for the inside handle, it sounds like the linkage between the inside handle and the latch has com apart from somewhere.

I just had this problem except it was on my Front Passenger Door. Acura covered it under warranty and told me that a cable inside the door panel had to be replaced that connects the door handle to the lock mechanism that unlocks it.

You do know that you don't have to crawl out the passenger's side, you can open your window and open the door from the outside handle?

If you take off your door panel (you can find this info in the 3G garage i think) there should be like a metal string with a ball--this should be in the U-shaped hook. this ball catches the hook and allows the door to open.

I had this exact same problem.

I know for me Acura took my door panel off once and forgot to hook on that latch.
