Ugh-winter is back and so is that tapping
Hey everyone I know this was covered before but I can't seem to find the thread. Anyway a lot of us have this issue where there's this tapping noise when turning right or left when the car is really cold. After the car warms up no more tapping. The sound comes from the front wheels. Was there a fix for this? I'm
Still under warranty but You know the stealership won't do sh*t unless they can duplicate it and it's just a PIA to deal with those ppl. Please any help would be appreciated

I never read the thread your referring to before and I don't know the answer for sure but I can tell you where the problem is most likely coming from since I have experienced it as well. The grease in CV joints is rated for relatively high temperatures, when its very cold improper lubrication can cause this clicking sound as if the cv joint is failing. It may be a sign it is failing but more than likely its not. If you never experience the problem when the car is warmed up I wouldn't worry about it. There is nothing you can really do to fix the problem unless you want to replace your half axles, if your at 100k this isn't necessarily a bad preventative maintenance idea. But other than that I would just wait for the problem to persist after the car is warmed up to replace the half axles.
