Type S - steering wheel lights too dim ?

07 TLS has red lights on the dash, console and steering wheel, etc (which is better than the blue IMO). My 04 TL had a prob in which the console lights surrounding the navi screen were too dim when I turned the min/max control down (for driving at night). 07 seemed to fix that prob, but now the steering wheel buttons are too dim,....WTF ? Has anyone noticed this ? (go sit in your type S outside in the dark and turn on the lights. Dim the interior lights al the way and let me know if you agree...)

Agreed, they are very faint compared to the rest of the dash and head unit. It's like they need a higher wattage bulb for the steering wheel assembly.

I prefer then a little dim at night so they aren't distracting ..

One of the features I miss from the Passat I had was the ability to shut off the lights in the steering wheel. It had a very small button on the back side of the steering wheel that shut them off.
