Type S Aspec front lip gap

I installed the type s aspec front lip 24 hours ago and there are 1-2mm gaps at the corners above the fog lights. Did anyone else have this issue? It looks like the tape that came with it is crap so the front edge of the tape on the side of the bumper isn't completely sticked on. Should i use some silicone adhesive to fill it in? if so, black or clear?

Also, is it ok to wash my car now that it's been 24 hours? Or should I wait longer?

Thanks!

When you removed the tape did you also remove the risers that made the tape stick out more? And which3m tape did you use?

I have to take off the bumper again to install my CAI when it arrives, so maybe I'll replace the crappy tape. So I just put a line of tape along the entire lip?

Ahh fuck it. It seems lined up and secured, so i'm just going to stop by walmart later today and get some black permatex silicone adhesive sealant to fill it in

I'm on vacation right now, but I'm going to see if I can make any adjustments to get rid of the gaps when I take the bumper off to installcmy CAI when I get home. Last resort will be the sealant to keep water out. But since it's an oem lip it really should sit flush

you gotta pull the lip on the sides back a little more. and then put the screws on the ends to hold it in that position. not easy but with patience it can be perfect

Don't use adhesive sealant to fill in a panel gap. Do it right and you'll be happier in the long run.

Screws on the ends? Do you mean the tabs? There weren't any holes in the lip that matched up with anything on the fender liner so I just slid the fender liner behind the lip

are you saying you didnt use the brackets on the 2 ends of the lip? they come with the lip and clip onto the fender liner. there are 2 holes on the bracket on each side to screw the lip on. it helps "pull" the lip back so it sits tight

Oh yea I used those brackets. I don'tbsee how those are adjustable though since the brackets have a fixed spacing.

It's got enough play to pull back a couple mm
