Two quick questions! Clock and Bumper

Alright, so this in the rear bumper on the drivers side it pops out a little bit and I was wondering how I could pop it back in place or if there is no fix?

And also the main thing that annoys me!!!! My digital clock is wrong and no matter how many different times I change the Time Zone/Clock on the Nav Screen it does not change, and I have searched on the forums and have found people with the same problem but no fixes. Does ANYBODY out there know how to fix this?

My bumper did this too until I took it off and put it back on. When you put it back on, make sure each side is going into the clips with an equal amount of force. If one side is pressed in too hard, the other side will then pop out a little bit more. Equalize the pressure applied all the way around. Also, if one screw or bolt holding the bumper to the car is too tight, it can cause some popping out or unequal gaps.

As for the clock I have no idea. Have you tried pressing the reset button? Disconnect the battery as a last resort and see what happens, although I think the car may save the time even if the battery is pulled.

+1 on the bumper issue. It drives me nuts because I kept thinking that it was that the bumper was warped or something, even just slightly, shifting it out of place. I'm going to use the bumper removal DIY today and hopefully it will fix the issue. I'm so glad that I'm not the only one with this issue.

Regards, the clock, see if you can find TSB 08-050. We've lsot access here for now, but the title is: (2007-2008 TL Navigation) Time On display Change Randomly but Never by exactly 1 hr.

Maybe your problem is similar.

+1 My rear bumper has this issue too slightly, I guess this is another common issue on many 3G's.

So I went ahead and removed/reattached the bumper yesterday, and I found some interesting things with this issue.

First off, those clips that hold the bumper in place are a pain in the butt to remove. They do fit quite snugly, so even being very careful I did chip a piece of the inner plug off on one of them. It doesn't compromise its ability to be reinstalled and hold the bumper, but just be aware of that.

I knew the car had its bumper replaced before I bought it (a minor fender bender) but I was surprised to find how shitty of a job the installer did. They didn't replace the screws that are upside down (on the underside of the bumper, the first ones just behind the rear wheels). There's just holes there where they go, but thankfully it's not compromising anything.

On top of that, I saw that the black grate plastic piece that is right under the right tail light assembly had one screw in it, not the two or three that belong there. The bumper is locked into it, but the gap is thanks to the fact that this black supporting clip piece is wobbly in and of itself. Until I go and buy one of these screws, the gap will remain. At least it's not that the bumper is warped in any way- better to pay a buck for a screw instead of a new bumper IMO.

What a shitty job done by these guys. I'm glad I learn about my car so I can be an ass if I ever get this kind of work done and make sure the body shop doesn't get away with doing shitty work.

Hey, first post, I just bout a 2005 TL and I love it. I had the same problem with my clock navi and it was driving me mad. Also the voice turn by turn wasn't working and I had the Honda welcome screen. I searched like mad and tried different things, bought the new navi DVD and updated the software, disconnecting battery, swearing, punching babies, nothing worked. Finally I found a post on the forum that solved all my problems with the clock and navi. the freaking radio fuse! So after that long winded intro/explanation here is the remedy for the clock issue.

Take out the Radio Fuse
Disconnect battery
wait 30-45 minutes
reconnect everything
profit.

I tried this and it didn't work for me.

My clock is consistently wrong all the time.

When daylight savings time occured this time around my clock forgot how to change so I manually fixed it and then somehow it fixed itself so I undid what I did. If that makes sense. lol

Hold in your MENU/SETUP/CANCEL buttons and that will bring you to a complex menu......look around in there, I can't remember exactly where the option is but there is one to let you override the stubborn car and put the clock where it needs to be.

In regards to the bumper, the driver's side of my rear bumper is similar although not near as bad as your picture....the body lines are even but there's just a very very slight gap between the bumper and rocker. I took it to Acura's body shop and they showed me a variety of 3G's all of which had varying rear bumper fitment.....we came to the conclusion that it is what it is.....just be sure it's mounted right and do your best to cope.
