Transmission slipping at high rev shifting

06 TL 6MT. Second owner. Purchased from original owner at 117,000 miles. Original clutch assembly and all. As far as I know no updated CMC. The clutch slips when high-rev shifting as well as when cruising low revs in high gear (i.e. 45mph in 5th @1750rpm or so) and you engage full throttle, then press and depress and the clutch quickly. She bounces off the rev limiter (the clutch does not grab).... Anyone know a guaranteed fix for this? Any thoughts on the matter, or questions, I'd love to hear and answer either. Thanks.

OK, I'll try this one more time....
I bought a 2006 TL 6MT with 118,000 miles on it back in February.
The clutch felt weird & strange compared to other clutches, & the car was hard to drive smoothly, as you have noted.

I read on here about a well known mod to remove the clutch slave cylinder RELEASE VALVE. This little piece of plastic slows down the fluid travel when he clutch is released. It is supposed to make driving the car smoother, but it is basically inducing some slip & delay in full engagement.

At normal RPMS, it works OK, but when you punch it hard, that little slip & delay allows the engine to get spinning faster than the clutch can hook it up. Once it starts the slip, it can't catch up and you are just roasting clutch until you let up or burn a pound.

If you have already removed this valve, sorry for this post. If you have not, read up on here about the procedure, remove the little valve, then drive it for a few days, then come back with a report on what/how it is doing now.

Maybe your clutch is slipping, maybe its just the release valve, but you can't tell with the release valve in there.

In my case, my 06 6mt was fine after removing the valve, feels much more like a 'normal' MT, and the clutch hooks up like it should. If you get things right, try a hard launch with traction control off........

And remember, as many on here have noted, it is still a hard MT car to drive smoothly, like around town, traffic, parking lots, tight spaces, etc. So don't blame yourself too much for occasional bobbles.

I have not heard, nor read about this. So thank you. I'll look into that.
The very first thing I do upon starting the car is turn off VSA haha. So doing a hard launch without traction control won't be a problem
It may be a while, but I'll definitely report back. Thanks for the input! Now that I've "mastered" the car, it feels rewarding, especially when other people who are competent manual drivers hop in and struggle Haha.
Again, thanks for this....

Ok I'll have it all checked tomorrow... I don't have the time to do all the work so I will have my mechanic do it.

Also, when I checked the level of the tranny fluid on the dipstick, there was no fluid on it, I pulled it out and cleaned it off then put it back in and checked again and the only fluid on it was remnants of inside the tube. The tip had nothing on it at all.

So, I won't be driving it lol.
