transmission range switch?

transmission shifts perfectly smooth and no jerks or slipping, so i doubt its the 3rd and 4th pressure switches, and i had a 3x3 done professionally by Honda at about 118k (car has 141k now), but i just got a check engine light and flashing D, but turning the car on and off removed the D. shifts 100% fine but the CEL remains on. might this be the range switch? im going to get the code read tomorrow afternoon but figured i would ask. ive searched and found people with similar symptoms as me but the posts are a few years old.

i thought i would update this with that i got the cel code scanned, its p1717, and with the code popping up when i shifted the transmission from P to D or D to P, and with it not happening while driving, and with silky smooth shifts, my shade tree diagnosis is the transmission range selector switch is indeed bad. so hopefully this will help someone looking for the same answer. also i did see in another post that they drove for too long on it and it caused other transmission issues so this is definitely something to address asap.

Quick Google search confirms its the transmission range selector switch. I installed a brand new one along with 3rd and 4th gear pressure switch a couple weeks back on my TL. Make sure the transmission is in Neutral prior to uninstalling the original one and order the OEM part! Car shifts great on my end.
