Shift from drive to reverse causing CEL

I have a 2008 acura TL a/t. I've had it for 2 and a half years and I love it. Lately, I have been gettin a CEL (code p1717) and my D light starts flashing. I'll use the car again in an hour and the light will go off. It'll come on at random shifts from drive to reverse. The car feels exactly the same. I'm a newb at this shit but is there a pressure switch of some sort that controls the drive/park to reverse mechanism? Thanks for your inputs!

The code P1717 is relating to a problem in the shift position indicator switch. That is the part that tells the computer which gear ( P, R ,D N ect.) you have selected. It could be a problem with the switch, a wire connection or the adjustment of the switch.
