So i have searched and could not find my particular situation. I have an 05 auto- This morning it was raining and i got on it a little and the Traction control light came on- then the transmission held its gear and would not shift even when I let off. I got to the light still in I think third- then it down shifted normally and has been fine ever since. Is there something with the traction control that would cause this? any help is appreciated. I just changed my pressure switches and did a 3x3 with redline.

 

This is a somewhat rare but known issue. Sometimes when you encounter wheel spin it will stick in a gear, usually second gear. I had it happen twice and the last time was well over a year ago. Once it fixed itself after I came to a stop and the other time I had to turn the ignition off and back on. I highly doubt it's anything to worry about. In looking at other people with the same issues I don't think it's ever been the beginning of a problem or failure.
