i have an 04 tl 5at with about 102000kms and ive noticed that when im just cruising at around 45-50mph at about 2k rpm in 5th and i floor it, it accelerates normally at first but around 4-5k rpm when vtec engages it hesitates for a split second and jerks forward. Ive tried accelerating from a stop and 10mph roll up to 80mph and theres no problem, the car is still shifting smoothly under light acceleration so i cant explain the problem hoping to get some help here thankss

 

What does the tach do during the heistation? Does it continue to go up and then drop back down?

Is the transmission fluid level full? What color is it? It never hurts to get some new fluid in that transmission if you haven't done it in a while.
