Transmission issue 5AT

Okay, some background info first:

I have completed a 4 x 3 transmission fluid change using Redline Racing fluid at 55,000 miles. The first three changes were done at 100 mi intervals. The fourth one was done at 60,000 mi. Then the 3rd and 4th gear pressure switches done 500 mi later.

After all of the transmission fluid changes, I never noticed any problems. Everything was grand and as described in the threads.

However, after the pressure switch changes, I noticed some big differences. The gear change from 1st to 2nd to very very hard, the car will jerk forward (this is during light to normal gas pedal pressure). Now the interesting part, the gear changes from 2nd to 3rd to 4th and 5th are all accompanied by a rpm "flare". I mean, the car will shift and the rpm's will rise about 3-400 rpm before the gear actually changes. Also, going from Park to Reverse will result in a noticeable jerk along with a longer than normal delay. However, all downshifts, no matter the gear, are smooth and undetectable...

So, my attempted fixes at this is:
1) I checked and re-tighten the pressure switches. No change in car performance.
2) I checked the transmission fluid level. It was reading a bit below the bottom hole, probably due to me spilling the fluid when refilling. I added more Type F back afterwards. It is now reading about 3/4" high on the dipstick, over the top hole. The reading was done per the manual. No change in car performance.
3) I unhooked the battery ground for an ECU reset. No change in car performance.

Does anyone have ideas on what is causing my problem? IHC, Inaccurate, etc.?

My next step is to get the transmission fluid between the two holes on the dipstick and maybe switch the pressure switches (although, I am 99% certain I put the switches in the correct gear, I cross-referenced AcuraOEMparts.com website diagram). I also plan on checking the motor mounts.

Put the old switches back in and see if the problem you are describing goes away. If it does, then I would reorder the parts. Install the new sensors and see if it goes away, then send the defective ones back.

Im considering useing redline d4 and doing the switches . So i dont have any mods and i dont race or drive in any aggressive way. What do you recommend as far as what fluid to use is the d4 fine or type f is better ?

^^^ I'll save him the hassle of answering you. Go to performance forum and read the "racing atf" thread. All of it..........twice. Search next time.

Do you, by chance, know or have the number written on the side of the switches? If I recall correctly, each switch had a black-colored number printed on the plastic piece

I honestly don't remember or have it saved anywhere. I'm going to do my second set of switches this weekend so I can get the numbers then.

Honestly, as quick as they are to swap out it might be easier and quicker to just swap them.

Off topic, what engine is powering that plane in your avatar?

i did my 3rd and 4th gear switches 2 weeks ago. when in drive i notice no difference whatsoever in the shifting. however when i shift it manually it responds a bit faster than before, the lag to R and D is still present. was it worth the $? maybe. i am 100% sure i put each switch in the correct spot.

That'll be my plan, hopefully there will be a difference.

As for the T-44 engines, they are PT6A-34B turboprop engines made by Pratt & Whitney. But I'm transitioning to a plane that now has 4,910 SHP and 19,600 in-lb torque ...
