Tranny issue

Searched for this but couldnt find it. I dropped my car off at the dealer because when shifting from third to 4th the car will shake and then shift and everything is fine. It only does this every once and a while but my warranty is about to be up so i figured id get it looked at. When i asked the service writer about the pressure switches he said that the VSA light would come on if they were going bad? Is this true or does he just not know his product? Quick answers greatly appreciated so I can call them today and let them know. Thanks!

dealers use the "if it is not broke, then dont fix it" mentality when i comes to those switches. that decision is up to you. I would change them every 50k miles

The VSA would light up if the pressure switches are going bad? Bullshit.

When was the last time your tranny was serviced?

I dont know when the last time it was serviced. I bought the car back in December with 79000 miles on it. I have 90000 on it now. I put alot of miles on my car lol.

The CEL will allegedly come on if the switches are out of range. However, they can operate in range, but inaccurately, and do damage. If in doubt, the are cheap insurance.

Get a fluid change too.

Went ahead and got the tranny fluid changed yesterday and had them check the switches. Left the switches in but the tranny flush made alot of difference. I could tell as soon as i started the car that it was running better. If i have any more issues ill be sure to change out the switches. Thanks for all the info guys!

By the time that you have issues, it is already too late. Every shudder or slip causes wear that you can never get back.
