In the two attachments see parts to order with the filter. This is from Acura Parts Warehouse. One of the parts not circled is the crush washer, buy that also. That spring behind the filter barely stays snapped on to the back surface of the filter and is a little tricky to insert into the housing. Take off the air cleaner assembly to access this area.My 2004 TL had 160K miles on it and 19 years since new. The filter was falling apart when I removed it. The original owner had this vehicle serviced at Acura for 15 years and I could tell by the really dark color of the ATF, the poor condition of the filter, and the force used to break open the fill and drain plugs that this transmission had never been serviced.I did the 3 ATF changes and replaced the filter on the first change. I had to drive about 100 miles after each change for the color of the ATF to turn darker. On the first change I also replaced the two pressure switches (no big deal) and the ATF Temp Sensor because it had its wire leads torn away (not well shielded in the wheelwell), that was a big deal.
