06 is under warranty till 70K I rolled in with less than 600 miles left. Replaced under warranty at a random dealer 100+ miles from home. Excellent service. Unfortunatly the unit they installed failed within 2K miles. replaced again under warranty and working fine. sitting just over 80K at the moment

2008 46k failed replaced under warranty. Threw a code for torque convertor solenoid so they just decided to change it. I was running z1 when I bought it new then switched to redline to which I did a 3x3 with it and also changed the pressure switches. I started experiencing flaring, where the tranny would randomly rev up or kick in slow on a shift. No problems with the new tranny and running dw1 and its gonna stay like that.

Are you guys using the tiptronic and shifting yourselves, or are you just driving normal and allowing the ecu to shift ?

Were you using only redline racing type f?

I was using the lightweight racing ATF. And I would also use SS mostly on the highway. Inaccurate was experiencing the same flaring issue and traced it to running straight lightweight racing fluid. He since then posted in that thread the mixture percentages for using lightweight and D4 ATF together. My car threw a code P0741 which was for the torque converter solenoid. Dealer protocol is to change the solenoid and if that doesn't work then change the tranny altogether. They opted on changing it out for a new one. Remember the service guys in the dealerships are code readers not real diagnostic mechanics. They change fuses and relays and such and swap parts. They won't really get to the root of a problem.

I have 62k miles on mine now and something is acting up. What route did you end up taking?

Mine is starting to intermittently slam a downshift and the other day I started it, put in drive, gave it gas to pull away and it just rev'd. Thought I might have shifted to neutral by mistake and looked down to verify it was in drive. Then it pulled away.

Pretty upset because it is most likely starting to fail. I changed the atf with redline d4 at 52k miles and it looked pretty dark. That was a precursor of things to come I guess. Car is never beat on, I am the only driver, and it has a majority of highway miles, not exactly a rough life.

Mine failed at 106k.. ONE thousand miles after warranty (extended) had expired. Acura goodwilled 83% of it for me. That said, I still am upset at the whole situation since:

1. MID code #3 never appeared, even though this is supposed to signal a need to change the ATF.
2. Despite no code, I changed the fluid 3 times (3x3, 3x3, then 1x3) within the last 20K miles. Probably too late. I even told Acura that i was concerned about my tranny 30-40k miles before it failed. They claimed that the fluid was FINE. Obviously NOT fine. Z1 was used in all drain and refills. Ugh.
3. I got a rebuilt tranny in Sping 2011 and I have 10K miles on it so far. Just did a 1x3 with Redline D4. Things going well so far. I'll do another 1x3 two more times within the next two oil changes.

Sorry I just saw this now. Usually I jump around from Gainesville and Orlando. I basically called up corp and complained about the car. I was firm and yet polite. They wanted me to fax them all my service records I had. As well I told them that I was the first one in the family to branch out and get an Acura because I thought they were reliable quality cars and shouldn't have a trans give out at 71k. I ended up at about $1200 all said and done. I traded in the car almost two weeks ago at 98k and still no issues with the second trans.

I paid $891. The end cost without any goodwill would have been over $5000 from Acura.
