ok so ive been driving around all day doing some errands, in the slushy snowy NYC roads. i parallel park next to this car and turn the car off, i come back and turn the car on and the freaking yellow engine looking light turns on and it wont turn off. is that the transmssion dying? do you guys think it was probably the slush/snow getting into the Cold air intake ?? f*uck man i cant get a freaking break with this car

 

Dude, there a lot of reasons why the check-engine light would come on. have your car checked by the dealer or a mechanic; some-one who knows what they're doing. it could be something simple or not. Good luck.

 

go to an autozone and have the code read, it will help us tell u what might be wrong with ur car for free ... or u can take it to the dealer but they will charge u a diagnostic fee

 

could be anything from low battery voltage to who knows, but it will have a stored code since you got the warning light

cai clogged with snow would cause engine to stall, not cause a light

when running multiple errands in the cold weather, lights on, heater on , seat heat on,
the alternator doesnt have time to recharge the battery and keep up with ongoing load
A weak battery will show itself in those conditions
15 minutes driving with rpm above 1500 is needed to recharge battery after cold starts

After code reading see if a freeway drive will restore balance and harmony~
