tranny problem?

just got a question on wat might b wrong wit my car. i put my car in drive and it doesnt start rolling until for a couple of seconds. when it does roll, it starts to chug while it is moving. When i'm driving it, its fine, but only when i let the car roll foward or roll bak. I'm guessing its the tranny but not sure. Any1 have this type of problem before or might know wats wrong?

Does the vehicle come to a COMPLETE stop before you change gears? Otherwise the delay could be caused because your changing gears to fast, and to prevent/reduce damage it won't change until you slow down to a certain point (can't remember exactly how slow)
