Tranny hose ending up nowhere.

Hello everyone, I just had my tranny rebuilt on my 04 TL and thought I might check on their work. I ran across this here. The hose in the beginning was also disconnected when I first saw it, I pulled that first hose in place but I have no idea where the other end is supposed to be connected to. What is this and why is it unplugged?

Thank you

ran into this when I was changing out the engine and tranny mounts. The piece in the bottom right corner of the image is the tranny mount.

That might be a breather tube. I have my transmission sitting on a piece of wood and will take a look and snap a picture of what it goes to if anything.

I'm going with the mount in the picture is an aftermarket one without a vacuum hookup and that is the OE vacuum line just hanging there. The OE mount would have a vacuum hose running into the bottom of it.

Normal. That is the vent/breather tube. The open end on the steel line side has to be vented to atmosphere just like in your picture.
