Folks, had my original tranny in my 06 replaced with a rebuilt tranny. By-the-way, never buy additional auto insurance sponsored by Rusty Wallace. They are scammers and probably just flushed a used tranny and painted it. Any way, my tranny works fine when cold, but some times when hot, there is a lag when I take off at a light or if I go from drive to reverse. Also sometimes when I drive and the speed drops under 40 mph, the tranny does a down shift. Seems like from 4th to 2nd ( I have an automatic tranny). Any thoughts?

 

Downshifting as you slow down is compltely normal and it's going to be more noticeable if you're on a slight decline.

This hesitation, do the rpms flare up when it happens?

 

The down shift is like going from 5th gear to 2nd, totally not normal & the toms do go up before it engages in 1st gear. I believe it is slipping, but because of the multiple issues with the tranny, I am hoping it is just a shifting solenoid problem.
