Angry TPMS issue

So i had a buddy replace my tires at his shop, since then my TPMS system is not working. It repeatedly displays TPMS error and the navi told me to call acura for an appointment. I have been looking through the forums and not seen and clear answers. I was wondering if i disconnect the batter if they will reset themselves or I need that tool used to repair them beings i think the rims have been changed around (rotated). But then I read that the radio codes and navigation codes supplied with the manual have many problems entering them and they read as invalid. I would much rather have my radio and navi working than the TPMS. any suggestions? ideas? should i just buck up at pay the dealer to reset the sensors? any idea on cost of that? Thanks Guys

Did you put new sensors in? My understanding is everytime you change tires you have to change the sensors.

You don't need to put new sensors on when you get new tires but you definitely need to ensure they're there when you mount them back on.
