Touch Up Paint

Hey all,
First time posting...and already have an issue. First and foremost, I love my 04 TL, I think it an awesome ride and the style is one of a kind. The only complaint that I have is that its built here in America rather than in Japan like the TSX. I get the feeling that there would be less complaints with problems with TL if it was built over in Japan. To make matters worse, even the service people at the dealer where I bought my car agrees with me. They say since the TSX and the TL came out, they had so many issues with the TL but few for the TSX....Anyways...I recently noticed that my TL had some chips on the paint, so I used the touch up paint that I purchased from the dealer. Upon applying it and letting it dry, I noticed that it stood out rather than blending in with the car. Maybe I didn't apply the paint properly, anyone have any suggestions.
Thanks.

I had the problem with my Satin Silver Metallic touch up paint. So I went to the Honda dealership and bought some SSM touch up from them and it matches 10x better than what I got from Acura. Also, you should try applying it with a toothpick rather than the brust so you can control the flow and amount better. Good luck!

You can also use the Acura Paint Pen found here. Touch up paint on one end, clearcoat on the other.

I'm planning on buying this pen. Is this better than the small bottle? Is the price worth it because I remember buying a touch paint (small bottle) for accord and it didn't cost me this much ($15).

You can also get paint from http://www.handa-accessories.com/ I bought the AM paint pen off of them, but it isn't perfect...a little dark. Does anyone know if the AM one off of ebay is a perfect match??

Does Honda have a Satin Silver Metallic? I thought they only have Starlight Silver Metallic or are they the same?

Ok, the comment about the bumpers is funny. I have a SSM and they are way off in color from the body. I have used the pen to fill-in chips but found it difficult to fill the entire chip. I wish the paint wasn't so fragile.

Thanks, I think the touch up pen will be a whole lot better than the stuff I got at the Acura dealer.

Nope Honda does have a Satin Silver Metallic. It is the same paint code and everything (also says satin silver metallic on the bottle). Plus it matched better for me than the Acura one.

I bought the SSM touch up paint from Acura ........... doesn't work, did everything from shaking the bottle for more than 5 minutes to layering the paint with a tooth pick, still showed up too dark.
I went to Honda to try and buy their SSM the guy at the service/parts dept told me that the paint is identical to the one sold buy Acura just a different label and I would be wasting my money?

That maybe true as it is identical as far as part number but touch-up paint/paint in general will very from batch to batch. I bought the same touch-up paint from acura and had the same exact problem. Called my parts guy at honda he gave me some touch-up paint and its damn near a shade lighter than that from acura. Same exact part numbers and paint codes but the batch at my honda dealership was definitely lighter in color.

Where online can I buy touch-up paint for my WDP. I'm looking for the brush. Is the brush better than the paint pen?

Try paintscratch.com They claim WDP to be a tri-coat (base, mid and clear coats) and will sell either bottles/brushes or paint pens to you. Your choice plus lots of other products to make touch up easy. I got some ABP and clear coat 1oz bottles from them and the service was really pretty good. Price seemed reasonable and delivery was fast.

I saw one guy say that the WDP he got from them was good on the body but didn't match the bumpers. From what I read about WDP I think the bumpers not matching the car is the real issue for that guy.
