Top brake light wearing out?

I noticed that my top brake light (the one in the back on top of ur back mirror..horizontal one) is wearing out.

I checked the DIY garage to see if anyone posted a how to remove and replace but there isnt any..is there one? Or should i take it to the dealership and let them replace it?

It's not a big problem, but it annoys me for it to be dim.

i think its called: ACURA TL HIGH MOUNT STOP LIGHT ASSY

it's very simple to remove the cover and replace this light... this light should be replaced under warranty if it's defective... the dealer should be able to replace in less than 10 minutes if they have the part in stock...

If your car isn't under warrantee... then just purchase the HIGH MOUNT STOP LIGHT ASSY online from www.acuraautomotiveparts.org or similar on-line dealers (it's under "TAILLIGHT"), then just pull the cover assembly (downward - starting from the end that's closest to the hood liner)... it's held in by two (2) clips... don't be shy in pulling it 'cause you wouldn't break it... you can see the diagram when you purchase the item on-line.... then just unscrew and replace...

Good luck...

it may be dim because the glass is dirty inside that housing. Id suggest taking it apart and cleaning it before buying anything.
