Took 4 hours to change my DRL bulb, now I have no DRL's.
So I just bought my ASM 2008 TL w/ navi a couple weeks ago. I bought legit 2500k Nokya Hyper Yellow after I read all the raves about them on this site.
So they arrive in the mail, I'm excited. I remove the old bulbs and insert the new ones. I check that they're both 9005 bulbs, yup correct. So I go to put them back in, simply turn them clockwise a quarter turn. WRONG.
I spent 1 hour trying to get the driver side in and could not for the life of me do it. So I moved onto the passenger side, and that side won't go in either! So I spend another 2 hours going back and forth trying to get the damn thing in, making sure I'm actually turning it the right way, I was.
So I gave up and tried the put the old ones back in, the passenger side goes in easily but the driver side will not go in.
So I just removed the passenger side bulb and now I just run the HID's as my DRL.
I got the correct bulbs(9005). Same as the ones that came with the car which were Sylvania. I noticed the tabs were a little different but that shouldn't be a problem because they were both 9005.
Anyone else have trouble getting the Hyper Yellows to fit?

Plug the bulbs into the connector and turn them on to make sure they turn on before you put it back into the socket.
You might have connected it backwards without realizing it. It doesn't hurt to take a look at the fuse either. It's located in the fuse box inside the car near your left foot when you're sitting in the driver seat. Should be labeled "DRL"
Also make sure your parking brake is not engaged when you start the car or else your DRLs won't come on until you disengage the parking brake. It's best to just leave the parking brake off.

It took me a good 15-30 minutes to get it seated correctly. It took me standing and bending my arm in awkward angles to get it right. Just try again when you have time. It can get frustrating but it's possible. I had to replace 2 LED DRLs under warranty recently and had to deal with re installing them again.

I did some research about them and one poster mentioned to take the o-rings off the old bulbs and put them on the hyper yellows. So I did that and got them to fit!
Damn that is the most frustrating bulb change of my life.

Police have better things to do than pulling you over for no DRL.
I drove around with no DRL while I was figuring why my LED DRL harness wasn't working.
Glad you figured it out

remove your headlights, put the o rings back on your bulbs. you dont want to risk headlight condensation from that.
i have no doubt that the bulb will fit fine with the O ring when you take out the headlight

They do have o rings on them. I took off the Nokya o-ring and replaced them with the o-ring off the OEM bulb.

For next time, rub a very thin smear of dielectric grease on the new O-rings, that came with the new bulbs. SUPER-LUBE brand will also work (and is a reasonable dielectric grease), from ACE hardware.
Often, new O-rings are not very pliant, and can be dry, and considerable force can be required to *force* them into the bulb opening. The old O-rings probably worked because they were already compressed, which may allow moisture into the headlight body. The smear of dielectric grease will also help to seal the bulb opening, and prevent the O-ring from drying and deteriorating, and cracking.
When I install a bulb, I can feel a sort of 'pop' as the O-ring seats, and only then do I turn the bulb to 'latch' it.
