TL shuttering/Shaking between 20-25mph

Hey guys How's yours driven?

I'm driving a 08 tl base a/t and feeling some weird shuttering when driving in lower gears... Specifically 20-25mph and I believe 3rd to 4th gear. (Could be 2nd to 3rd)

At first I thought it was misfiring but found out TL's have misfire counters and will through a code immediately if it does.

Tonight I realized it doesn't do it as much once the car is warm, but I could be wrong because I was driving it trying to make the shutter/vibration happen.
Anyways it'd be nice for some feedback. I read into a few other threads with very similar problems but all different answers. (Torque converter, engine mounts, egr valve, pressure switch, etc.,) wanted to get your guys feedback.

Dropping my baby off tomorrow at the dealer BECAUSE WARRANTY, luckily if it's serious, to get this all checked out.
hoping for a tlx courtesy
😁
Thanks

Does it feel engine related or can you feel the shuddering in your steering wheel?

I've been having a similar issue although mine occurs shifting from 1st to 2nd under low throttle. I've had my transmission rebuilt about 5000 miles ago. I've recently replaced my front and rear motor mounts but the issue still persist.

I can now feel movement by the pedals which is where the tranny sits, so my next option is to replace the tranny mounts which will tell me if the issue is or isn't the transmission.

I'm surprised my tranny has lasted this long if it is shuddering...Interested to hear what they come up with.

Not tire related

I k ow for a fact it's engine/transmission related, you don't feel it in the pedal or the steering wheel.
When I dropped it off he thought it was the torque converter but once he drove it and felt it he thought it was something else.
Will keep you posted

Update

Got a call from the dealership and they left a message saying it was software issue....?
More details once I pick it up.
Didn't know these things had software that could affect the driving....?
More to come...

I had the shudder a few years ago in 2nd gear under light throttle. Dealership replaced the torque converter under warranty. No problems since then.

Same type of issue, i replaced motor mounts, and now Tran mounts, it's like the transmission is trying to correct it self? And now reading about software issue, makes me believe some kind of computer or sensor problem? Confusing

Brought my 2012 TL in today... they confirmed it was the torque converter. It's still under warranty so... whew!!!

They also said that the parts are on back-order with no receive date. Ugh.

My question... Is it safe to drive it like this?

Not knowing much about this... Is it a big job to replace the torque converter?

why did you have to pay diagnostic if you are under warranty? there is no charge for warranty work....

yeah i think i need to get out my warranty book and read....
they said diagnostics weren't covered....

FINAL SOLUTION...
they said it was a software update... is hendricks screwing me..?
the shuttering is gone... but now some weirder things are going on..
like at 65mph it feels like it shifts twice... i think I'm having transmission problems...

finally buy a warranty and still feel like I'm getting screwed

this is an extended warranty purchased at original point of sale when the car was bought new? or from a used car dealer?

If the work is warranty work, and it is an original extended warranty from Acura from the original purchase date then there should be no diagnostic costs.

Tell them you want proof that "software" was updated. I've never heard of this on this car... tell them you want the old and new version numbers, a related TSB or something to support the work they supposedly have done.

Does their "software update" essentially mean they unplugged the battery and reset the ecu??

Regarding the transmission how many miles on the car? Have you ever changed the transmission fluid? this is very easy to do, easier then an oil change... i recommend you buy 9 quarts of your choice of Automatic Transmission Fluid (probably redline or something with low or no friction modifiers) and do 3 atf fluid changes within a short period of time. WHen you do this check the bolt magnet and see if there is any nasty looking shavings.

I'm having the same issue. Took it to the tire discounters thinking it was tire related they said it was tranny related. Took it to Acura they told me everything was fine that it just needed a wheel balance. So they balanced the wheels and it was ok for a few days and it came back. Mine does it between 30 and 40 mph with low throttle. It's getting worse now but Acura. So you're saying there's a software update that Acura should do?
