I have the same intermittent problem in the front dash and also the back panel behind the back seat. I think it might be the speakers, but not sure. It makes a creaking plasticy kind of sound.

Dashboard Rattle

I have a 1 month old 07 Acura TL-S which has developed (or maybe I am just now hearing it) a rattle that seems to be coming from behind the NAV or system display (where the time is displayed). It doesn't do it all the time and it is hard to hear with the radio on. I normally hear it when I turn the wheel sharply one way and then another (like a serpentine test). Occasionally, I hear it when I hit a bump. I wonder if we are hearing the same rattle or if they are different. I am reluctant to bring my car in for service for this rattle b/c I am afraid that there are so many parts that will have to be taken apart and put back together that even if they happen to find the problem, they will create more rattles. Please let me know if you find your rattle.

I discovered that the plasitc trim inserts rattles on the doors and possibly on the console. These parts get swaped out do to the interior you choose. I plan to take mine back to acura and point this out.

I'd say check your center speaker - just hold it down and see if the rattle goes away.

Dashboard Rattle

I tried pressing down on the speaker. Still rattles. I drove onto a parking lot and jerked the steering wheel back and forth to make it rattle. Definately sounds like it is coming from directly behind either the clock or NAV. I took the speaker out and shook it around hoping. No good. I felt all around in the opening and shook anything I could touch. I tried dropping a small magnet down there to see if I could latch on to something loose and metallic. No good. I even tried poking around with a straw to see if I could reproduce the sound. Still no good. I give up. I was hoping to avoid this, but tomorrow I plan to schedule an appointment with the dealership. I am sure they will fix it. It is really quite obviously, like a loose screw rolling around in a cavity.

well, they at least did a few things to minimize the rattles, such as putting felt.velvet on the undersides of the headrests to reduce rubbing rattles and put cloth on various internal parts to reduce rattles.

Rattle is fixed, at least temporarily. I had the car serviced and the service manager determined that something was rolling around in the duct work. Apparently, after trying several methods to extract the object, he used compressed air in an attempt to eject the item. Unfortunately, he did not see anything fly out, but the rattle has disappeared. I can only hope that the item came out and he just didn't see it; otherwise, there is a chance that the object may cause problems somewhere down the road. I've driven the car for about a week now and have put quite a few miles (~300) on it since it was serviced and, so far, all is quiet on that front. Now, I need to fix the infamous rear deck rattle. Based on other posts in this forum, that should be fairly easy.
