Tire wear

Just got my TL-S about a month ago and on the trip back home one of the tires had come apart on the inside. When I got her home 600+miles on the spare later I had to purchase a 2 new tires. The people at Discount Tire told me that TL's are nutorious for tire ware on the Inside of the tire and it would be a wise choice to rotate your tires every time you change your oil. The car has a set of eibach lower springs and has had the front and rear camber kit installed. The car tracks straight with hands off the wheel. My question is, does or has anyone else have excessive tire ware on the inside of your tires or should i just go get an alignment done?

you need an alignment.
toe should be set to 0!

we have natural negative camber.
since it has a camber kit already on it, you can choose what you set your camber to.
however, I would just keep it at stock camber specs.

TOE will kill tires on the inside.
so, it should be set to 0!!!!!
if set to 0, something else is going on, like suspension wear and tear. perhaps bushings.

I have a 2003 TL type S and tire ware has been an issue since I got it. Some mechanics tell me that I need to install a camber kit due to the fact that I have 20" rims with low profile tires. others tell me that I need to get new ball joints and so forth. I also have lowering springs on it. I always make sure to align it every 3 months and it rides smooth.

if toe is set to 0, then you have other problems on your hands.
it might be suspension related wear...like ball joints or bushings.

our cars, you cannot adjust camber without a camber kit!
however, if you arent SLAMMED then you wouldnt need to adjust the camber.
I'm not sure about the 2nd gen but the 3rd gen TL has a little bit of negative camber stock.

Justin, I believe it's actually negative camber that will ruin the insides of tires.

Toe actually destroys the tire treads from the inside tread to the outside tread. It causes a feathering effect to the tires.
