Timing belt change, crank pulley marks don't line up

I'm changing the timing belt on my '07 tl-s following a diy posted here, and I can't get the marks to line up. I can get the front cam mark lined up for cylinder 1 with the rear slightly off, which is ok, but the marks on the crank pulley are way behind. There are three marks on the pulley with the middle one being red and then a white one a little farther back; if the front mark is lined up the white mark on the CP is at about 11:00, and if I line up the CP the front mark ends up at about 1:30. I've spun the engine dozens of times with no change. It's almost like the pulley is mounted out of synch, but I bought it new and I don't remember ever having any work done around there. I know I didn't do it myself. Any suggestions? It's driving fine, I'm just changing because of age, so I don't think the belt slipped.

(Apologies if this has been answered before; I tried to search, but I'm on my phone and it's painful.)

oh cool!

im on the same shit!

I cant get the rear head to line up at TDC.

except, mine is a little different than yours because I changed my heads.
so, as I'm installing it back together, I have the crank at TDC but cant get the rear head to stay at TDC.

and i think my pulley is installed wrong.
I'm going to check my work by uninstalling everything and starting over on this head.

good luck to you.

Huh? I assume with the belt on?

IIRC, it's impossible to incorrectly install the crank pulley.

.... and the white mark should be lined up with the triangle mark (for TDC).

Did you check crank pulley and cam pulley alignment before you started?

Yeah, all of this was with the covers and motor mount still in place, which ended up being the problem--I didn't see the triangle at 11:00 on the lower cover, I was using the marks at 1:00 for reference. And you're right, the crank pulley is keyed, there's only one way it will mount.
