"Tighten fuel cap" message

Hey all, I've recently noticed that my "Tighten fuel cap" light comes on once in a while (once every few months). Everytime I've checked, the cap has been on tight, but it always happens while I'm driving. Does anyone have an idea of what's causing this?

Thanks

I had a similar issue before, but it ended up being the seal was cracked. In that case you can make it as tight as it goes but the light will still come back on. Check if the seal is cracked/broken.

I've had the same issues for 3 years now. on my 07 Type-S Acura Dealership said my gas cap looked good and there was no point replacing it and that it's a sensor that is causing the error message. They quoted me about $180 to fix the sensor and have the error stop... I said I'll just ignore the error.
