Ticking Front Headliner

Hi Guys,

As my '04 ages more, I am more and more aware of rattles each and everyday. They seem like a special feature I was not told about by the dealer. Anyway, I have a loud tick tick tick noise coming from the headliner near the overhead console where the map light are located. I can push up on the headliner after flipping over the sun visor and it will tick tick tick too. It occurs by itself when I hit bumps and go over rapid imperfections on the road. It almost soulds like "loose velcro" as it is being slowly ripped away.

Anyone else have a "ticking" headliner. Mine has not "fell" or "rattled"....yet. Thanks for the input.

I have one all the way in the back on the 3rd brake light. That is loose from the top and moves up and down. Ugghhh....

I have the ticking. It seems to be coming from the rear view mirror mount and only happens on warm days. If I gently pinch the mount, it stops and stays gone for days.

I have a ticky headliner as well. In my car, the noise comes from right behind the sunroof. If I press up on the headliner with my finger, the noise goes away. Its very annoying. Anyone know of a fix?

The build quality for this car is so poor for a $35k car. Although I love most everything else about this car, the rattles will probably keep me away from buying a new Acura again.

Thanks for the input guys. I have been busy and have not replied to my own posts. So has anybody asked the dealer to take care of the ticking? It's rediculous to have so many ticks coming from the roof. I will be getting an oil change next week and will have the dealer take a look at it. I hope they can add foam and tape in there to quiet things up nicely.

dcs888,

I don't know if this is the same rattle as I had but check out the thread I started about a month ago: https://acurazine.com/forums/showthread.php?t=164087
