throttle, help!

when car just reached its normal running temperature i kinda feel that it has more power, but i think it last for about 30 min of driving... specially when "stop n go" traffic, i feel that i have to push more gas to get the same result as when car just got warm. any ideas? is it just me? anyone with same problem? thanks....!!!

It is not just you. This is a well known issue with our TL. Please read the link below, and the associated links, for content.

X2. All cars slow down when they become heat soaked but the TL seems to be extra bad.

And with no limit apparently on the cold side

I was a bit concern about my Ultimate Cooling Mod in the cold winter. I was afraid the engine would suffer a performance loss or severe gas consumption with cold weather. Especially with precat deletes keeping things cool too.

I was happy and surprised to find both of my fears were unfounded. Gas mileage remained typical for my winter mpg.

But the performance...

40 degrees = better power
30 degrees = even better power
26 degrees = even better power

You're right, no limit on the cold side as long as the water and oil are up to temp.

My turbo car will run half a second and 4mph quicker from the hottest part of the day to 11PM when the track shuts down without the methanol on. That's over a 50hp difference.

could a better/bigger radiator/fan solve or minimize this problem? or adding a transmission cooler? cause taking the plastic cowl away makes it look bad...

No, another radiator will not help at all. Our oem radiator is excellent.

No, a trans cooler will not help. Other members have tried that (I Hate Cars), and they still had the issue.

The problem is the trapped air. You got to allow the upper engine bay to breath. Please check the linked thread again. There are tasteful methods to put breather holes into the cowling. It is not necessary to remove the entire cowl as I did.
