Lol as the title states, third gear isnt there. Every other gear is ok, but when i shift to third, nothing. I jst bought the car, knowing this problem. Got it for a steal so I am ready to drop the trans and get a new third put in. Any helpful tips or suggestions before I do so....thanks in advance.

 

Sure its not there or is the shifter/trans just not going into third?
Just had a GTI with no first/reverse, rivet broken inside trans and the gears weren't able to be selected.

 

3rd gear has always been hard for me in my 07, I believe there was a shifter issue? I would definitely look at the linkage first before you pull the trans
