Thank you acurazine
This site is AWESOME. I saved enough money today to pay for our entire Christmas.
Started the day by taking my 04 TL to Acura to have a new seat belt installed because the sensor was bad and the airbag indicator light was staying on. I read a post on ACURAzine a few weeks ago that said Acura had a lifetime warranty. I was ready to pay the $150 charge until I read the information.
I brought the car home and carefully removed the airbag and steering wheel radio, cruise control and phone switches and replace all of the burned out bulbs. Instead of paying the dealership $380, it cost me $8 for 20 bulbs that were the same make and model that Acura uses. The instructions for pulling out the airbag, switches and bulb information were all on some fabulous posts that step by step walked me through the process.
I wrapped up the afternoon by watching the video on how to pull off the bumper to replace the ignitor and ballast on the drivers side so my HID headlight would work again. The Acura dealership wanted almost $800 to do the job. I got a new OEM part on EBay for $180 including shipping.
Not only did I save a bunch of $$$, but had a great feeling of accomplishment. If you have been holding off redoing your steering wheel lighting or a head light fix....DO IT. The instructions provided by the guys who posted these repairs were so easy to follow....even a cave man could do it!!!!!
Thanks to all of the contributors for your help.
