Tears in driver and passenger seats

Tears in driver and passenger seats
Just looking on advice on what the best way of getting these repaired. Called the dealer and they quoted me $900 just for driver seat replacement. Still need to call places around me, though I feel like that perforated leather is going to be hard to come by. Suggestions?

When I worked at a Lexus dealership we would use a "leather doctor". Kind of like the dent doctor that pulls door dings out, this leather guy could fix rips and child seat marks in seats. A small rip should be less than 100 bucks to fix. Just google Car upholstery doctor in your area.

Before I bought my car used from a dealer, there was a large tear in the passenger side. The dealer worked with a leather guy that came out and was supposed to 'fix' the tear but ended up replacing the whole damn thing! Looks and feels great to be honest. Very supple leather and the color is spot on.

Got some perforated leather from ebay, carefully measured and cut out the piece to cover the rips. I made it such that the edges go into grooves and then glued the whole thing on top.
Came out pretty nice.

I took mine to a local auto upholster shop and for $150 he redid my drivers seat bottom and rebuilt the cushion up.
Did an amazing job, looks brand new.
If you can find a replacement seat with good leather expect to pay big dollars for it. At least around here, the seats go for $500+ and they are by no means in "like new" condition.

can you tell me what you searched for on ebay to find this specifically? I looked under leather, perforated leather and seat cover.
I need to replace a patch that was damaged by a "leather expert" I could have screwed it up less than he did.
Thanks in advance.

Look for custom upholstery shops. Here's my story:
So when I bought my car 2 years ago and traded in the 06 TL for the 08 TLS it needed a new tint-job and bad. Finally took it in to the place where I had the 06 done since they did an amazing job on my old 06. Problem was they had to remove the old tint on my car which, if you've ever tried to do is a pain so I'll leave that to the professionals.
Anyway, flash forward 2 days after the job and I notice a HUGE hole in the seat where the grey leather has been melted away. Immediately I call the shop and after some careful and calm negotiations they agree to cover the whole thing. They send me to a place 20 minutes north of where I'm at to have the work done.
The guy there was able to match the pattern and color EXACTLY. To this day you could not tell there was any damage. The whole was massive and they were able to repair it. The repair cost was a fraction of what a new rear seat cover would have been (think around $150 rather than what oemacuraparts.com would charge for the cover + installation).
My advice, avoid the dealer, find a custom shop that will do it and save that $$$.
