Tail lights won't turn off
Tail lights won't turn off
Hi all!
I'm having an issue with my tail lights turning off. When I turn the car off my tail lights remain lit. My brake lights are not on it is just my taillights. I've had this problem before where I replace the brake switch and the brake switch stopper. Both are working just fine at this time. I even replaced the brake switch today with no luck. I've tried to search for any answers other than brake switch or stopper and haven't had any luck. For now I'm having to disconnect my battery so It doesn't die. Any thoughts or recommendations would be extremely helpful. Thanks for your time

06 TL Tail Lights staying on
Thanks!
I know this thread is 5 years old, BUT, I have exactly the same issue. Will you please clarify that the wire loom that you speak of is the one inside the trunk? I haven't really dug in to this at all yet, but looking at the schematic, I don't understand how just the tail lights could get power at all with the switch being off. Wouldn't the tail light need current supplied to short out the negative to the body in order to come on? I'm not sure how this could happen. I've removed the under-hood tail light relay but they remain on. If there is still somebody here that can lend a hand, I'd appreciate it. I do have a meter and know how to use it but I'm certainly not an expert. I do have the ability to read basic schematics but I get in over my head quickly...
Thanks!
Thanks!
