Sub Rattle!
Everytime i listen to high base songs, the part where the sub is rattles like crazy. Has anyone experienced this? I'm debating if i should take it to the dealer and try to get them to fix it. This is my first time experiencing such a horrible rattle on my car. What can the dealer actually do?
This is a pretty common problem for the TL including mine. It took the dealership 4 separate occasions working on it before they finally agreed to replace the entire back panel. It's 90% better with all settings turn to +4. All cover under factory warranty.
They'll dynamite it, but it doesnt always go away.
I added felt to the coveres for the LATCH covers so they wouldnt rattle.
The thing that got rid of my rattle was watchin this vid on YouTube. You have to take the trunk lining off and feel around the top by the window, youll find some holes in the metal. If you have music playing you'll find that if you go towards the middle and push up on the rear deck it will stop rattling.
I got some felt, and folded it a few times and stuck it in there and a little off to the side too.

I had rattles in my car a few hours after I took delivery of my car. It would happen every time the bass hit in any song. It was very annoying and couldn't stand it. I took my car into service twice. The first time they refered to a TSB in regards to the rear shelf rattling, they took some felt placed it on the rear shelf latch. But after awhile the rattle came back. I took it in again and they placed some foam padding between the rear shelf and the rear glass. That finally took care of the problem.

First, I played music that made the deck rattle. This wasn't too hard as just about everything made the deck rattle. I climbed in the back seat and pushed down on the rear deck where the vents are right near the bottom of the glass. The rattle would stop. Per the TSB, I removed the light in the trunk and found the plastic clip that holds the rear deck to the metal of the car. This clip has enough play (or slop, depending on how you look at it) to rattle during bass. I took a piece of cardboard from a bar of soap box and slid it inbetween the plastic clip and the metal frame of the car. POOF! No more rattle

Too much hassle to do this on my own. Its a brand new car god for sake. I'll take it to the dealer and see what they can do. Also all my sound settings are on 4 (bass, treb, and sub) BTW what is the best setting ?

lldkyll,
I had the same situation with my new Type S. When I asked the dealership about it, they smiled and said, "we see this all the time." They took care of it, under warrenty, by removing the back seat and tightening down the seat belt brackets.
You are under warrenty-let your dealership take care of it for you. It will be fine!

...jesus, what are they called?Anyways, hope someone can help! I found many threads about this, but not one specially mentioning about the bulletin.
i brought mine in on friday and they replaced the entire rear speaker assembly for me. Took about an hour to finish. My music sounds so much better now! no more rattling.
