Stripped a cat nut. What do I do now?
#2
Cut it out. I would use a bur bit, or a small cutting wheel on a small die grinder. Just don't damage the threads on the stud.
Or, force a socket onto the nut, or use a special socket for stripped fasteners to remove the nut.

Thanks guys, is there a stud there or just a nut and bolt? I took it to a shop and he said he will torch off the old stuff and put new bolts in. But I hope he doesnt run into a issue if they are studs.

thats for the help guys. Took my car to a muffler joint and they were able to get the nuts off. The cleaned up the studs with a wire wheel attached to a grinder and put on new stainless nuts. $30 later and Im in business and finished my project.
