anyone notice a strange sound lasting about 2 secs usually a few secs after i started the car. the sound is like "errr.." almost like a door creaking open but very faint. can only hear it if nothing else is making a sound. this 2 sec sound sometimes repeats a few times.

 

Have someone else start up the car while you stand near the engine bay. Although I've never heard this happen on a 3G, it could be your ABS pump priming. I used to have the same problem on my 1G CL,but those had recalls.
