I've noticed just recently a strange squealing sound coming from my car when i accelerate from a stop. It's almost a metallic squealing, not THAT loud but definately noticeable. I only have approx 2k miles on my 05. Any ideas what this might be?

 

PS the sound is not consistent. Sometimes its there and sometimes it goes away - generally it goes away at higher speeds (30+) Turning does seem to affect it sometimes.

 

i have the same noise on 04 5at with 25000 miles bringing car to acura next week ill let u know what it is. but the nosie got worse from my car and now it makes clicking nosie during a down shift

 

SOunds like a tranny problem, mine as the same and is going to be changed soon i hope. It was at the dealer for a week and half, they check everything, heat shield and nothing so the next step should be transmission replaced.

one customer has a 2005 with 600 miles on it and same noise, they change the tranny, sound is gone.

Try to observ how your transmission act, does it downshift quickly or a bit slowly ?. does it become worse when you do a lot of city driving ?
Do you notice an increase in fuel consumption ?

Does sometimes the kickdown is brutal, i mean like if someone rear ended your car a bit suddendly.

Do you sometimes feels your car is sluggish ?
