Still leaking oil after Rrpairs

Newbie to the site and have some questions. I had rear main seal and oil pan gasket replaced and still leaking pretty good i took back to mech. 3 times he re sealed oil pan 2 times and put 2 new rear seals in it and still leaks. It still seems to be leaking from Inspection cover on transmission.I'm done dealing with the shop he says its done come pick it up I drive it home and its still leaking can it be coming from somewhere else?

I would say if both the rear main seal and oil pan seal were replaced and it's still leaking, those 2 were never the original source of the leak. I can't say where it's leaking from w/o seeing it, but a second opinion is definitely in order.

Hopefully, during the process of removing the original main seal, the mechanics who performed the work didn't scratch/score up the mating surface in the housing or around the crankshaft where the seal seats. If it is still leaking oil from the rear main seal, then I would consider this a possibility.

if they did scratch up the mating surface. YOu'll need to get a new case assembly/oil seal.
Here's the Part Number if you have to go that route.

still leaking

ok i looked i am just tryn to help , i looked in your stats , no help , lets assume its a 3.2l 04 to 08.

so when its running you can actually see it dripping out of th back of the engine ? between the trans and engine ? shouldn't be that hard with a flashlight.

i can look at mine but i don't believe ther is that much above that could cause this. .

were sure its oil ? not trans fluid ?

most people are here to help i would assume like me , very difficult without pics or a vid . just sayn.

Hey Hudson how's it going?

Seems like you have a shit mechanic on your hands that can't fix the problem the first time. Take your car to another shop that knows what they are doing.

Rear main seals are not cheap especially since the part is like 80-100$ and the labor is far up there.

First question. Did they completely spray down the engine and areas effect by the oil leak and run it to determine where the oil leak is actually coming from? Is the leak that bad? Did they use oe gaskets or a good gasket company? Cheap gaskets won't last long.

The problem with oil pans is there extremely sensitive when a new gasket is applied. If old silicone and other contaminants are not cleaned off or removed the new gasket could leak again or prematurely fail and you would need to replace the gasket again.

My advice is to take the car somewhere where they will brake clean it. Road test it and bring it back to see where it is leaking from. Then repair it. If the leak isn't bad enough let you drive the car for a 2-3 days and you bring it back so they can actually see where it is leaking from.

Could be something as simple as a sensor gasket that's leaking and spilling out a lot of oil.
