Unhappy Steering Wheel Control Problem

For a while now I've been having a problem with the volume button on the steering wheel controls. It happens on random times and once or twice at a time. What happens is that if I have a tape or CD playing and I press the button to increase the volume, the CD goes to the previous track or the tape goes on rewind. I don't think i'm going crazy because it happened to me a couple of times, maybe 3-5 times a week and I know it's the + volume button. It's probably working as the - channel button whenever it feels like. Did any of you have this problem?

Nope.

But I AM wondering why my Mode button sits flush with the surface of the steering wheel spoke, when the same-sized Cruise Control button on the other side of the steering wheel protrudes above the surface.

It's because the mode button is a momentary and cruise control is a push on/off

I have an 05 AT TL and thought that the XM channel changed while I was lowering the volume via the steering wheel this week.
