Steering too heavy at low speeds after rack replacement.

I had the rack replaced after an incident with a curb.

I'm pretty sure the fluid is correct, at least it's not ATF.

Fluid is full and not aerated.

Rack was bought from Acura.

Basically it feels normal at higher speeds but below 50mph it's too heavy. I know it has some sort of variable rate steering, I'm assuming variable assist but maybe it's just variable ratio. If it's variable assist, it would seem like it's not working since it feels normal at higher speeds.

Any help would be appreciated. I told the shop it seemed heavy but I decided to drive it for a day or two to be sure.

Run a pressure test on the system. I have had pumps run at low pressure and that will cause the symptom you describe. Fluid is not foamy at all right?

No foam.

I'm taking it back. I put it on the rack today and found the reservior leaking (still full) and a high pressure line leaking at the rack. I got a wrench on it but it was tight so I'm sure they messed up the flare.

I'm assuming it would be a very good idea to ask for a factory replacement hose and accept no repairs.

If they told me in advance they were going to have a tire shop do the rack I would've stopped them. My car is quickly becoming a POS.

uummmm they keep blowing.....guy at acura tells me dude u cant hit the gas while takign turns.....im like so in other words ur trying to tell me that i cant turn my f****ing wheels and hit the gas to move from a stop.....or am i just stupid and missing something? they are trying to say i go 2000mph while ripping turns....its stupid and i call honda all the time and they have no prob replacing it. but now they have the rack the tranny for the 3rd gear because my reverse is shot now too. the rack hoses and cooling system fromt he type s which i requested they do to relieve excess pressure (they had no prob with that) the dealer was giving me shit for 2 months before i called honda and they were like whoooaaa we'll call them and schedule u in for early next week and send them the list of things to be done......i went above the dealers simply because they are fuckin around and not doing something correctly.
